At the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC), we strongly believe in practicing what we teach.  Our facilities have been designed not only to support the research being conducted at the center, but also to be as energy efficient as possible.

Directions

The Florida Solar Energy Center is located at:

1679 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, Florida 32922

From South Florida:

Take I-95 north to SR-524 (Exit 202). Exit east onto SR-524 and proceed east to SR-501, then south to FSEC.

From North Florida:

Take I-95 south to SR-528 (Exit 205). Exit east onto SR-528. Proceed east on SR-528 for approximately 4 miles from Interstate 95. Take the first exit off of SR-528 to Industry Road and Clearlake Road. Proceed to the stop sign at the end of the off ramp. Turn right at the stop sign onto Industry Road and immediately move into the left-hand lane. Industry Road dead-ends into SR-524 and SR-501 at the traffic light that is approximately 500 yards from exit ramp stop sign. You will need to turn left at this light, so get into the left hand lane as quickly as possible after turning onto Industry Road. At the traffic light turn left onto SR-501 (Clearlake Road) and proceed east. Follow the sharp right-hand bend in the road and proceed south to the next stop light at the intersection of Clearlake Road and Michigan Avenue. The Florida Solar Energy Center is a large blue building with red and yellow trim. You will easily be able to see it on your right-hand side across this intersection (see photo at right). Proceed straight through the intersection, move into the right-hand lane, and turn right into the first entryway.

From Orlando Airport:

Follow Airport signs to the north Airport exit. Exit east onto SR-528 (Beachline Expressway) toward Cocoa. Travel east 33.6 miles on SR-528. Take the Industry Road exit, Exit 45, toward SR 524/Clearlake Road. Proceed to the stop sign at the end of the off ramp. Turn right at the stop sign onto Industry Road and immediately move into the left-hand lane. Industry Road dead-ends into SR-524 and SR-501 at the traffic light that is approximately 500 yards from exit ramp stop sign. You will need to turn left at this light, so get into the left hand lane as quickly as possible after turning onto Industry Road. From Melbourne Airport:

Exit the Airport and follow street signs to I-95. Proceed north on I-95 to SR-524 (Exit 202). Exit east onto SR-524 and proceed east to SR-501, then south to FSEC.
