Welcome
We are so excited about this upcoming year for our Pack and just wanted to take a moment to say "Welcome Back!”
This "newsletter" will be handed out at every Pack Meeting and is our way of communicating important news and dates to you.
Remember in Cub Scouts, too much FUN is never enough! Let’s have a great year.
Popcorn
What's that I hear?I believe it's the sound of Cub Scout popcorn popping all over Brevard County.
Popcorn sales begin tonight. Please see your leader or Mena to pick up your popcorn packet before you leave tonight. The pack will be keeping 35 percent of total sales this year.
As I am sure you are aware, Scouting costs money. In your packet, there is a detailed list of expenses for our planned year of scouting. For every boy that sells $300.00 of popcorn or more, their pack dues for the year will be waived. In addition, 35 percent of everything that they sell over$300.00 will go into their“scout account” to be used for La No Che camping, uniforms, or other Scout related expenses.
There is only one catch to this.In order for your scout to be able to receive credit for his efforts you must meet the following 3 deadlines:
1.Popcorn
orders must be turned in to your den leader by October 14.
2.
Popcorn must be picked up on the Oct. 26th or
27th.
3.Collected money must be turned into your den leader by November 7.
In addition to the prizes from Council listed in their packets, the pack awards for this year’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd top sellers will be, a set of 2-way radios, tool set, or a $15.00 Wal-Mart gift card.(The 1st place seller will choose first, then the 2ndplace seller, then the 3rd place seller.)
The pack will also give each boy that sells any amount of popcorn a special surprise.Pack popcorn prizes will be given out at the November Pack Meeting.
Please mark the following important ‘popcorn’ dates on your calendar:
ØAugust 22 – Popcorn Sales Begin
ØOctober 14 -- Popcorn orders due to den leaders
ØOctober 26 & 27, Noon – 5PM—Pick up popcorn from Waters’ home.
ØNovember 7 – Popcorn money due to den leaders.
ØNovember 7 – Pack Popcorn awards given out at Pack Meeting.
Selling popcorn is your opportunity to fund your son’s year of scouting so please be sure to take advantage of it.Feel free to contact Mena Waters, 639-8734 with any and all ‘popcorn’ related questions.
Popcorn Show & Sell
Unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful in finding locations to hold show & sells. If you have any “connections” or ideas for new places in which to “show & sell”, please contact Mena at 639-8734.
