Mr. Harrison has been employed at the Florida Solar Energy Center since 1980. He has managed a variety of solar thermal programs at FSEC. These include solar thermal implementation, educational development, solar product certification and system monitoring.
He has provided technical and administrative consultation to various State of Florida cities and agencies in the implementation of solar thermal programs on low-income housing as well as state parks and government facilities. Of note was the Solar Weatherization Assistance Program in which over 800 solar systems were installed on low-income residences.
Mr. Harrison has also been responsible for directing the activities of the FSEC Solar System Certification Programs as well as numerous other solar and energy related projects and programs. He provides administrative and educational assistance to the national Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (SRCC) in the development of training programs and ancillary SRCC activities.
Mr. Harrison has published numerous articles, publications, and manuals related to solar water heating. He has also been responsible for the development and coordination of solar workshops in Florida as well as nationally and internationally. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of the FSEC web site dealing with solar thermal.
