LLOYD WILLIAMS
Lloyd Williams Two 40 gallon ICS systems will be installed at this residence. Each system will serve as a preheater to separate conventional electric water heaters. The ICS units will be ground mounted on the south side of the building on the top portion of the hill. (Note: An accompanying PV array will be located in front of [south] and lower on the same hill slope.) One of the existing water heaters is new. This heater is located in a crawl space below and on the east side of the the building. Piping will be trenched outdoors from the ICS unit to the water heater. The other water heater is quite old and will be replaced with a 40 gallon electric unit as part of this project. This heater will be located in a utility room on the northwest side of the building. Access to this utility room will be through a crawl space within the building that runs the length of the building. |

| SPECIAL CONDITIONS | |
|---|---|
| Water heater location | Two separate water heaters (and locations) will be used. Each ICS will be plumbed to individual water heaters. |
| System 1 | System collector feed and return lines will be installed in a crawl space within the building. Due to the long pipe run, care must be taken to secure and support piping run. |
| System 2 | System collector and return lines will be installed underground. Care must be taken to protect insulation for ground based environmental degradation. This can include special sleeves, resistant coatings, etc. |
| Ground Mount | Both ICS systems will be ground mounted on the south side of the building. The ICS system will be ground mounted on an elevated support rack. Ground mounting will require 5 gallon bucket size concrete footers sunk into the ground for long term stability. Standard mounting bolts and mechanical apparatus will be used for securing the system to the footer mounting bolts. |
| Monitoring equipment | Two BTU meters and two auxiliary water heater watt hour meters will be installed at this site. (One each per each separate solar system system.) |
