Control Your (PV) Future!
|
Come see a “first”-- direct utility control of PV generation. Satcon and the FSEC team will preview the future of utility control and optimization. The Grid-Smart Inverter Architecture assures safety, improves PV output, and enhances both feeder and grid reliability and economics over conventional (rotating) generation.
Lakeland Electric, the municipal utility of Lakeland, Florida, will host this live demonstration on a 250kW array owned and operated by SunEdison. Most of the enhanced functions shown can be applied to PV generation from small roof-top systems to the largest of ground-mount arrays, and even extended to “virtual unit” aggregations of many arrays within a Control Area.
Our team is led by the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) of UCF, with major technology development by Satcon Technology Corporation. Lakeland Electric are SunEdison providing the real-world validation environment, and we have technical and administrative support from Northern Plains Power Technologies, Sentech/SRA, Cooper Power Systems EAS and DX3 Enterprises, Ltd.
The team will showcase system features developed under the DOE SEGIS program including:
