FSEC is currrently in the process of transitioning to new solar thermal standards. Until that process is is completed, the following two documents are being used.
The new solar thermal standards outlined below will represent a substantial enhancement of the existing Florida solar thermal standards, which incorporates many of the minimum requirements of national and international solar thermal standards into FSEC's Standards. By Florida Statute, FSEC is required to set fees that recover the costs of the testing, certification and rating services required for solar equipment and systems in Florida. Click here to view fee structure [41KB, Adobe Acrobat PDF].
This document describes the operational procedures for approval of solar thermal systems - how approvals are obtained for systems, how systems are certified, how system performance is rated, and how approvals and ratings shall be displayed and used. This Standard will result in changes to the system EF ratings for many systems. |
