This class is offered to prepare the student to become a Rating Field Inspector.  The Rating Field Inspector works under the direct supervision of a certified home energy rater and is trained to collect information to conduct inspections and perform tests (blower door and duct testing) to produce a home energy rating.  This class will give the student the ability to identify and quantify building components and systems.  This is an entry level certification to becoming a home energy rater.  You must pass the RESNET Field Inspector Exam to be certified.  In Florida, you must also pass a performance exam as well.
This is a four day class with the RESNET Field Inspector Exam given along with the performance test on the fourth day of class.  The Exam is $50.00 which will be paid by the student directly to RESNET online prior to the start of the exam.  A credit or debit card is required for payment.  American Express is not accepted.
After passing the exam,  the field inspector shall perform 5 inspections under the direct supervision of an energy rater who has at least 25 ratings completed and checked by his/her QA designee.
