Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce the student in the proper use of the manometer, blower door, duct tester and pressure pan to perform building envelope and duct leakage testing. The class will utilize lecture as well as "hands on" training. Emphasis is placed on the duct total and the duct-to- outside leakage tests, which are required to satisfy the requirements of the state of Florida’s ENERGY STAR® Residential HVAC rebate program.

Please be advised that this is a training course only, and does not certify or license anyone. It provides additional training for those in the field who are qualified under the rebate program to perform these tests.

Testing equipment will be provided for class use only. A duct tester is required to perform the total duct leakage test to satisfy the duct test requirement of Florida's ENERGY STAR® Residential HVAC rebate program. Equipment for personal use may be purchased from the manufacturers listed below.
