Florida Legislature Passes Rebates for Solar
and Tax Holiday for Energy Efficient Measures/Appliances
The Florida legislature authorized $2.5 million for the
purpose of funding commercial and consumer solar incentives
and designated an energy efficiency week during which
sales tax will not be collected on the sale of new energy-efficient
appliances and other energy-efficient products priced
at $1,500 or less. In addition, $15 million was appropriated
for funding a Renewable Energy Technologies Grants program.
The legislature also established a nine-member Florida
Energy Commission to continually review the state energy
policy and recommend to the Legislature any additional
necessary changes or improvements.

Understanding the Dehumidification Performance of Air-Conditioning
Equipment at Part-Load Conditions
The moisture removal capacity of an AC cooling
coil degrades at part-load conditions – especially
when the supply fan operates continuously while the coiling
coil cycles on and off. This report summarizes the
results of a comprehensive project to better understand
and quantify the moisture removal (dehumidification) performance
of cooling coils at part-load conditions.
